Spider-Gwen (2016) #7 Review

Alternate world, awesome art!

The Spider Women find themselves stuck in Spider-Gwen’s world of Earth-65. Someone swiped Spider-Gwen’s Interdimensional Bracelet, and the Spider-Woman needs to find her way back to tend to her new baby. What do the girls do? Consult one of the smartest people in the world! This leads to complications on the way, especially after Silk makes a discovery.

*** Warning: Spoilers ***

The second entry to the Spider Women story line is a steady ride. Other than one fight, there are only conversations throughout the rest of the book. We find out that this universe's Reed Richards is a young boy of color and that She-Hulk is a superstar. My biggest highlight of this book is the Art! This is the first book that I’ve seen the artist, Bengal’s art and I’m in love! Being a fan of Anime, it reminds me of that style. I can’t wait to check out more of his work.

The Spider Women story hasn’t been very interesting yet, but being a fan of the characters, I want to see what happens. The art really grabbed me, so if you like anime as well, you would like it too. Unfortunately, the artists differ from each name series. I’m going to stick around to read Bengal’s next issue and to see what happens to these characters.

Recap

+ Bengal’s anime reminiscent art
- Story is a bit slow
