Everyone wants to be found.

Remember when Nemo was lost? Welp, now our favorite memory-loss friend, Dory, is lost as well. Will we find her? Let’s find out in my review of Finding Dory.

We open up with a young Dory at home with her parents. She’s had memory loss ever since she was born. We can see how the family copes with Dory’s condition. One day, Dory get’s carried by a current and becomes lost, without any recollection of where she came from. Eventually, she comes across Marlin and the events of Finding Nemo take place.

After the events of Finding Nemo, Dory decides that she wants to find her parents. She retraces her memories in hopes to find them. As she inches closer and closer, she recalls several memories that helps her find her next step.

***Warning: Spoilers***

This movie reflects Finding Nemo a lot. We follow a character with a disability as they are separated from their friends and family, and we follow them on their journey back. We meet a plethora of characters along the way that may slow our character down, or help them out. In Finding Dory, I liked Hank, The Octopus, a lot. We start out not liking him, but eventually warm up to him. Dory’s friends from back home were also fun, but I’ll leave that for you to discover them.

The journey isn’t as perilous as Finding Nemo, but it was still a roller coaster. Some parts made me question the believability of things, like no one questioning a self moving baby stroller, but I was still investing myself into the world.

***Warning: Super Spoiler Ahead***

There was one thing that I wish would have happened and that was for the parents to be dead. So that means that they Dory does find her parents, but I would have cried like a baby if they ended up dead.

This movie is for anyone, especially if you’re a fan of other Pixar movies, you would love this one. Make sure you show up on time to catch the short before the movie.
