At the Game Developers Conference, Google announced their upcoming service for video game streaming. The service promises the ability to bring 4K gaming in 60fps to any chrome browser, on any platform.
Project stream was a public test that took place last October, exploring the capability of this service, using Assassin’s Creed Odyssey as a benchmark. During the keynote, they conducted a live demonstration, showing the game played on several devices that support Google Chrome, including Chromecast devices. Immediately after the demo, they introduced the controller that will be able to connect the user directly to the data center with whichever session they are playing currently on.
To end the keynote, they made the announcement that Stadia will be available later this year, available first to the US, Canada, UK, and parts of Europe. Watch the full Keynote here.
