Earlier today, Deadline reported Disney has rehired James Gunn as Director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Last July, old shocking tweets resurfaced, calling for Gunn to be removed from the project. Soon, it was announced that the film would still be using Gunn’s script. After petitions from fans, support from the cast, and Gunn’s professional response to the controversy, Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn has decided to take him back. Due to Gunn’s commitment to the upcoming Suicide Squad film, production for Vol. 3 will wait until it’s finished.
