Rob’s Pick of the Week

STAYC - Teddy Bear

This is the biggest week of select new releases so far, and even noticeable top picks. Honestly, I wasn’t the biggest fan of this one on early listens, but it grew on me, especially when clips started flooding my for you page. It scratches the border of when a song is too cute for my liking. That chorus is an earworm. I’d be lying if it wasn’t stuck in my head while I was on vacation this weekend. The styling this era is also great. Prettiest bear bandits of the year.

Rob’s Second Pick of the Week

tripleS - Rising

Since it is a big week, I think it’s okay to have a second pick, right? After hearing their first unit’s song, I think I knew this group was going somewhere. I still think the NFT part of it is whatever, but a girl-adjacent version of NCT, why not? I’m sure a lot of aimless orbits out there have them as their replacement Loona. Their sound is filling that void for me. Don’t sleep on them, just because they’re a new group from a new company. If their songs sound like this all of the time, they can hock NFTs all they want.
